GREENWOOD ENERGY STRENGTHENS ITS LEADERSHIP TEAM AS IT ADVANCES VISION 2030

Panama City, Panama | September 17, 2026

Greenwood Energy (GWE) announces the strengthening of its executive leadership team with the appointment of Carlos Molina as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Gerald Carril as Chief Engineering Officer (CEngO), and Sixto Martínez as Senior Controller, as part of the implementation of VISION 2030, the company’s five-year strategic plan.

These appointments reflect the continued evolution of GWE’s organizational structure and the strengthening of the strategic capabilities required to support the development of a 2 GW portfolio across Latin America. By reinforcing its leadership across finance, engineering, and accounting, the company is further enhancing its execution capabilities, capital management, and operating standards as it scales its regional platform.

VISION 2030 is GWE’s long-term strategic roadmap, grounded in the experience gained through landmark projects such as ɅLMɅ MɅTER in Panama and TERRɅ INITIɅTIVE in Colombia, and focused on advancing new initiatives of greater scale and complexity. The vision reaffirms Greenwood Energy’s commitment to a just energy transition in Latin America: developing clean energy projects that also create lasting value for the communities where the company operates. For GWE, the transition is not something built alongside communities, but with them — placing them at the heart of the development process.

Guido Patrignani, Chairman of GWE’s Board of Directors, said: “Greenwood Energy’s VISION 2030 is about much more than multiplying our installed capacity across Latin America; it is about scaling the Greenwood Model to advance a just energy transition in increasingly complex territories, helping tens of thousands of people build a more prosperous future aligned with their culture and way of life. To achieve this, we continuously strengthen our organizational capabilities alongside proactive and entrepreneurial people who are passionate about our vision of sustainable development, who go the extra mile in everything they do, and who challenge the perceived limits of what is possible. That is why we are so pleased to have people like Carlos, Gerald, and Sixto leading key areas of the company. Each of them has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence and to the way we do things.”

Carlos Molina – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Carlos Molina brings 19 years of experience in structured finance, banking, and emerging markets, having raised more than USD 5 billion in capital throughout his career. He has led high-impact transactions across the energy and infrastructure sectors in Central America and the Caribbean, including project finance structures, debt syndications, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining GWE, he held leadership positions at AES Panama, Grupo Terra, and Citi. As Treasurer of AES Panama, he led the closing of a USD 1.05 billion bond issuance for Generadora Gatún, a 670 MW natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant. He holds a Master’s degree in Financial Markets from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

As CFO of Greenwood Energy, Carlos will lead the financial strategy and capital structuring required to scale the Greenwood Model and support the company’s regional expansion, with a pipeline of nearly 2,000 MW of solar and wind projects across Colombia, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.

Carlos Molina said: “It is an honor, and a great responsibility, to lead Greenwood Energy’s finance function at one of the most transformative moments in the company’s history. The company’s new projects represent a step change in scale and technological diversification which, combined with its proven approach to social innovation, places Greenwood Energy at an important juncture in the evolution of Latin America’s renewable energy industry. The defining feature of our projects is undoubtedly their structuring model, which empowers communities as co-beneficiaries — rather than treating them as a box to be checked — and makes our assets proactively sustainable over the long term. That is exactly what the world’s leading institutional investors are looking for today.”

Gerald Carril – Chief Engineering Officer (CEngO)

Gerald Carril is a mechanical engineer with a specialization in naval engineering and an electromechanical engineer, and holds master’s degrees in Project Management, Education, and Power Systems. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at ENSA — a Grupo EPM company in Panama —, Panasonic Corporation, and LG Electronics, building extensive experience in engineering, project management, and energy infrastructure.

Since joining GWE in 2021, Gerald has played a key role in the deployment of the projects that have shaped the company’s evolution. As Project Manager, he led the technical development, construction, and operation of the ɅLMɅ MɅTER solar plants in Panama. Subsequently, as Senior Vice President of Project Management, he led key milestones in the development and construction of the first phase of TERRɅ INITIɅTIVE in Colombia. In his new role as CEngO, he will lead the strengthening of GWE’s technical capabilities to support its regional expansion and the increasing complexity of its portfolio, consolidating processes, teams, and standards to ensure consistent technical management across all projects.

Gerald Carril added: “Engineering is not just about planning; it is about execution. And Greenwood Energy’s new scale requires us to take that execution to the next level by strengthening our processes, teams, and standards. This new stage demands a better version of ourselves to maintain and raise the quality of our work as teams grow and projects become more complex. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and take on this new role with the conviction that we can bring the same excellence and commitment we have demonstrated at ɅLMɅ and TERRɅ to new projects.”

Sixto Martínez – Senior Controller

Sixto Martínez brings extensive experience in accounting, taxation, finance, and corporate controls. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Universidad Interamericana de Panamá and a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from Universidad del Istmo. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Accounting with a specialization in Controllership from Universidad de Panamá, a Master’s degree in Taxation and Fiscal Management from UNESCPA, a Master’s degree in Financial Management from ADEN University, and an MBA from INCAE Business School, Nicaragua. Prior to joining GWE, he built his professional career at Quijano & Asociados, Cervecería Nacional, Multibank, and Minera Panamá.

Since joining GWE in 2021, Sixto has contributed to strengthening the company’s corporate and financial structure, reinforcing internal controls across its operations in Panama and Colombia. As Senior Vice President of Tax & Accounting, he led the creation and implementation of internal policies and regulations, as well as the development of corporate structures and compliance with applicable requirements across the jurisdictions where GWE operates. In his new role as Senior Controller, he will lead the strengthening of the control, transparency, and corporate governance mechanisms required to support the company’s regional expansion, coordinating the accounting teams in each country.

Sixto Martínez said: “Financial control and compliance go far beyond audits: they are the backbone that enables a company to grow responsibly and in an orderly manner, safeguarding the traceability, trust, and clarity that investors, partners, and stakeholders need. In my new role, my focus will be to ensure a corporate structure capable of supporting Greenwood Energy’s new scale, meeting the highest international standards through protocols and procedures that do not compromise our responsiveness or speed of execution. The main objective will be to design and operate an aerodynamic control system.”

Carlos Molina, Gerald Carril, and Sixto Martínez are based in Panama, from where they will contribute to Greenwood Energy’s regional development. These appointments strengthen the leadership with which GWE is advancing into new territories and projects, while maintaining a central principle: to grow with rigor and a long-term perspective, creating sustainable value for the communities and territories where it operates.
