GERALD CARRIL IS APPOINTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT AT GREENWOOD ENERGY, LEADING THE GLOBAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Within the framework of the regional expansion plan currently carried out by Greenwood Energy [“GWE”], the Board of Directors of the company has announced the appointment of Gerald Carril as Senior Vice President of Project Management, leading the global engineering department which is responsible for the technical development and management of projects in the different countries where the company operates. Based at the GWE headquarters in Panama City, Gerald will coordinate the engineering tasks of the technical teams distributed in Colombia, Panama, and Dominican Republic, setting the global goals of the division, and executing the strategies established for the fulfillment of the objectives set for each of the projects in the region.

With 12 years of experience in the Latin American electric power sector, Gerald has participated in the development, construction, and operation of over 300MW of clean energy projects across the continent, standing out as Electrical Supervisor at ENSA [EPM Group, Panama], Engineering Supervisor at Panasonic, and Academic Trainer at LG Electronics. Since 2021, Gerald Carril has contributed his vision and leadership to GWE as Senior Project Manager in Panama, where among other activities he has led the technical development and construction of the 40MWp solar plant of ɅLMɅ MɅTER, the flagship renewable educational program from GWE’s ‘Reimagining Development’ project series. Gerald is an electromechanical engineer from Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, where he has also completed his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, combined with a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Universidad Interamericana de Panamá.

As director of the engineering division, Gerald Carril will report to Greenwood Energy CEO, and work in coordination with the country managers and the directors of other global departments.
